Dr. Shiroff grew up in Philadelphia. He received his undergraduate degree from Temple University and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Shiroff was Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases at Hershey Medical Center. While at Hershey Medical Center, Dr. Shiroff was an instructor of Medicine and completed a fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology. He moved to Las Vegas in 1978 and joined Dr. Sawaya as the second member of Cardiovascular Consultants of Nevada.

Since then, Dr. Shiroff has been active at Sunrise Hospital as Chief of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology. He also served on numerous committees at both Sunrise Hospital and Mountainview Hospital. Dr. Shiroff is a past President of the Nevada Affiliate of the American Heart Association and he received the AHA's prestigious Heart of Gold Award. As a Fellow in the American College of Cardiology he served as Governor for Nevada. Other medical society affiliations include the American College of Chest Physicians, for which he is a past Governor and the American Society of Clinical Pharmacology. Dr. Shiroff is now retired.
